A wonderful time of the year to pause, reflect and soak it all in
I started writing about the year-end in retail and quickly decided that the last thing people need this week is another blog on retail! In much of the world, many are racing to close the week in order to celebrate Christmas and the other holidays of the season. While there are many cultures and holiday traditions, it seems that the last two weeks of year are one time when much of the world takes some time to hit the pause button, celebrate and share quality time with family and friends. So in that spirit, I wanted to share my Top 10 from a great list that has been shared with me for this holiday season.
Why this is important: In today's world, it seems that things are speeding up every year. It is easy to get caught up in the hectic hustle, and focus on what is wrong or what we missed. Don't miss the reasons for the season! Hit pause and reflect on what you do have … and count your blessings, they are more than you will ever know.
Top 10 Lessons and Reflections from a holiday slide share
Funny thing about great friends … they know you so well that they make the time to share things that they know will have meaning to you. One of my friends knows my passion for photography and shared a great slide show filled with dramatic photos … and life lessons.
The slide share is not new by any means. I have seen it several years ago. Sadly, I remembered some of the great photos, but had forgotten almost all of the 45 Lessons in Life.
So, my apology if you have seen these before, but it seemed the perfect week to share some highlights with my many friends and colleagues I have met around the world. There are some great messages as we pause to reflect with our families this holiday season, and think ahead to the New Year.
Here are my Top Ten Lessons … and resolutions for life in the New Year.
So, that is my Top 10 … what are yours?
As with so many things on the internet, the source is often lost. It appears that the 45 Lessons in Life was a slide share created by He Yan in 2009. You can find all 45 Lessons here: http://www.slideshare.net/stevenhe/45lesons-in-life
After your holiday celebrations and the gifts have been given, I would encourage you to make a few minutes to go visit the 45 Lessons and pick your Top 10.
It will be the best gift you could ever give yourself and those you love.
