Always great to get stories and feedback from our loyal readers
A week ago, we posted a story about "Flyover Country" and my home state of Nebraska. Like many parts of the world, Nebraska is filled with many small villages. Despite how movies portray these small towns, "salt of the earth" type people live here. And, they do know how to have a good time, as you will see in the video below.
This part of the US is typically called "Flyover Country," because no one important ever stops there … they just flyover it to get to the action on the coasts. It's not a place a major company would come shoot a video for the Superbowl being played in New York.
So, a special shout out to one our most loyal readers for sending us the link to the video "Hyped for Halftime". Pepsi and country music star Lee Brice made a stopover in Milligan, Nebraska, population 275. Instead of just shooting some advertising footage, Pepsi and Brice ended up giving a free concert that attracted over 5,000 people to Milligan. Quite a feat on a very cold Nebraska night with temperatures in the single digits.
The amazing part, I live less than a 100 miles from Milligan and I had no idea this even took place! To be honest, I didn't even know that there was a real town called Milligan in Nebraska. It continues to amaze me what you can learn from your networks that reach around the world via social media.
I have no idea of what footage will make it into the Superbowl ads for Pepsi, or Lee Brice's show. But my hat goes off to Pepsi and Brice for featuring a slice of life from really small town America.
